CELEBRATING THE FIRST HAPPY EMPEROR’S BIRTHDAY IN THE REIWA ERA OF JAPAN

From 2020 onwards, the Japan’s  National Day and also the Birthday of the Reigning Emperor is February 23. Due to the fact that Emperor Naruhito ascended the throne on May 1, 2019 (the year of the Reiwa Gennen), and thus, in the year of the Reiwa Gennen, there was no event to celebrate the Birthday of the Emperor. So the National Day-Emperor’s Birthday in 2020 became the first National Day in the Reiwa era.

The year of 2020 is expected in Japan as the year of major international events, typically the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held for the first time in Japan after 56 years and after 7 years of preparation, will take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020. In the relations with Vietnam, many cooperative projects in all fields have been implemented stably, contributing to promoting the development of economic, cultural, social , infrastructure, environment, and science -technology… of Vietnam.  In the field of education and training, Vietnam is the country with the second largest number of international students and the largest number of trainees in Japan. Japan is also one of the largest non-refundable aid countries for Vietnam’s education and training sector. The Vietnam Association of Japan Alumni has always received great attention from the Embassy of Japan and organizations such as the Japan Foundation, Japan Student Support Organization, etc…

On this occasion, The Vietnam Association of Japan Alumni would like to express our delight and sincerely send our best regards to the Japanese Embassy, the organizations of Cultural, Educational, Economic and Enterprises of Japan in Vietnam; wishing the Emperor and Empress are always healthy, wishing the Japanese people are always in prosperity and happiness.
